Paint

Artist Reflection:
1. The strongest technical aspect of my work was the shell. The coloring makes it look shiny and round, and realistic.
2. The technical aspect that could have been improved upon is the snail's body. It is not the right texture as it should be, and looks kind of flat and blurry next to the shell.
3. The easy part about this project was doing the metal under the skateboard. It was easy to make it look shiny because it has more hard edges and a smoother texture than the shell or the body.
4. The difficult part about this activity was making the blended colors smooth, while still keeping the texture there. Sometimes the blend tool would appear to skip and create a jumpy-looking blend.
5. I demonstrated this art activity by creating a digital painting from a photograph.
6. If I could do this project again I would try and make the body more textured like it was with the original photo. I would experiment more with the different kinds of brushes to see how they would look.

Posterize

Artist Reflection:
1. The strongest technical aspect of my work was the complementary colors. The placement of the opposites across from each other helps draw the eye around the piece.
2. The technical aspect of my work that could be improved upon is also the coloring. When using the magic wand tool, it would select different parts of the different images and that made them not all match. What was selected gives the face a different appearance than the full color image or even the black and white one.
3. The easy part about this activity was making copies of the picture and then adding the colors. Aside from the difficulty with the magic wand, the coloring itself was easy.
4. The difficult part about this project was getting the right colors. some colors it wouldn't let work, and others would appear to be the same as others on the image, when they were in fact different on the color selection.
5. I demonstrated the objective in this art activity by posterizing an image and then adding bright, contrasting colors.
6. If I could do this project again, I would try and make the color regions match. I would have made it more uniform and made sure that the coloring itself was cleaner.

Polaroid

Artist Reflection:
1. The strongest technical aspect of my work is the use of the old polaroid frames. It makes the piece appear more real and worn compared to how the stark white frames look.
2. The technical aspect of my work that could be improved upon is the placement of the polaroid frames. I think I could have made it flow better and made his arms more realistically popping out.
3. The easy part about this art activity was making the polaroids layered on top of each other. I simply used the layer mask tool and that was easy because it is something that I have done in a lot of other projects.
4. The difficult part of this project was making the polaroids flow and really make it look like they had been thrown down and scattered. Making sure that the lines were all places in the right spots to make it look like the photographs were on top of each other was difficult too. It was easy to lose track of what edges belonged to a certain photo.
5. I demonstrated the objective in this art activity by putting polaroid frames over a digital picture to make it look like they were a part of the same photo.
6. If I could do this art activity again I would make more drop shadows under the photos. I would make the pictures flow better and have better parts of the original picture popping out. I would probably choose a different background, maybe more of an obvious cityscape, too.

Tattoo

Artist Reflection:
1. The strongest technical aspect of my work was probably the drawing itself. This was a computer class, so I didn't expect to get to draw during it at all, but I was pleased when I learned we would be doing that for this project.
2. The application of the tattoo onto her arm could probably be improved on. It was difficult to make it look real and I still don't think it looks as real as it could if I had had more practice in photoshop.
3. The easy part about this project was the drawing part. I enjoy that and I am used to that, so it was easy for me to do it. It was also easy to take the white out of the drawing because we've had practice with that in several other projects.
4. The difficult part of this activity was making the tattoo look like it was really on the skin. Bending it to the arm and making it the right color and transparency and size was difficult.
5. I demonstrated the objective of this activity by creating an original tattoo and photoshopping it onto the skin to make it look real. I warped it and recolored it and blurred it until it looked like it was really on her skin.
6. If I could do this project again I would make it look more real. I would improve both the original drawing and also apply it to the skin better.

Personal Identity

Artist Reflection:
1. The strongest technical aspect of my work is probably the different opacities and the effect that has on the piece as a whole. The slightly lower opacity of the kangaroo really emphasizes the fact that it is tired and slowly slipping into the deep REM sleep cycle. The very low opacity of the map in the background gives the work a subtly different texture.
2. The technical aspect of my work that could be improved on is probably the color scheme. Right now it doesn't really flow and is kind of giving me gross vibes. The green clashes badly with the purple of the galaxy and the pizza stands out in a bad way. I could have recolored the zombies and the elastics around the lobster's claws.
3. The easy part about this art activity was the photoshop tools. I am familiar with the general ones from photography and it was kind of review in this project.
4. The hard part about this art activity was that it as ANOTHER personal identity project. I have done so many throughout the years that I wanted to make this one different and more obscure than my previous ones, yet still me.
5. I demonstrated this objective because I used photoshop tools to represent myself. I used the kangaroo because it looks tired and I am always tired. The coffee is to show how I like coffee and various other hot beverages. The map represents how I love to travel and plan on doing it more. Pizza is a food that I like to eat, and while I don't like to eat lobster, my band name DOES have lobster in it. I put space and zombies because I think both are rad and I find the concept of both intriguing.
6. If I could do this project again, I would improve the color scheme and I would also make the editing cleaner.

Typography

Artist Reflection:
1. The strongest technical aspect of my work is the composition. There is good balance between the negative space and the the positive space. The way the lines are layer out help carry your eye throughout the whole piece.
2. The small details, like the distance between the drop shadows, can be improved upon. There are some spots where things don't line up the way I would've wanted them to. Changing the way I made them could fix that.
3. The easy part about this art activity was that I already knew how to do the majority of effects. This project was simple and easy, and a good introduction to photoshop project.
4. The hardest part about this project was getting everything to line up. In some spots that is lacking and can be improved upon.
5. I demonstrated the objective in this art activity by using only one letter to create the project. I used different effects on the letter to make it more than it was, like resizing, rotating, fading, and skewing.
6. If I could do this project again, I would fix the drop shadows behind the letters. I might choose a different letter to see how the composition would change.
